Week 3: Do you need permission slips for a virtual field trip?
By now, I hope everyone is getting up to speed on the workings of the course. . .you may by this time have mastered webCT, bought a mac and entered the blogosphere. . .phew, that is quite an accomplishment.
I expect the EdTechProfile to be complete, the intro letter finished and your blog up and running. . .and you may or may not have completed Journal 1.
This week: we are going to work on the newsletter and if time permits, we will get into TaskStream and the NETS
Journal #2: "Museums in the Classroom", page 36 of the February 2009 issue of L&L. . .Don't forget to use the Citation Machine to cite the source.
This week's Question: What is your current favorite band/musician/or music? Notice I said "current favorite" so you are not committed to this forever ;-)

Current favorite, and has been for a while is Beirut. The song I like the most is Nantes. I saw them live and it was the most amazing show that I never wanted to end.
ReplyDeleteMy current most favorite is the Pussycat Dolls. I just like the way they sound.

ReplyDeleteCurrently, my favorite band is not really a band - I LOVE the soundtrack to Wicked (the musical). It's great to just blast in the car and belt out the songs... But in mainstream music, I really like the song "I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz right now, or anything by Carrie Underwood. I'm weird, I know... ;p
ReplyDeleteCurrent favorite, well for the last two days anyway, is The Fray =). After four years of waiting, the fray has finally released their second album, self-titled The Fray, which came out yesterday!
ReplyDeleteI'm a country lover... and Taylor Swift rocks my socks! I mean my boots. Honestly I rarely listen to any music... but if I do it's usually country because it puts me in a good mood.... ironic I know. I do enjoy the occasional Metalica and Pink Floyd when I'm a little edgy. :)
ReplyDeletePinback, I can listen to them over and over. I heard Why? today and I really liked them too.
ReplyDeleteI have a favorite song right now..."Island in the Sun" by Weezer. I don't even know any other songs by them, but love that one.
ReplyDeleteAs far as bands go, I am old school and love Depeche Mode, the Cure, and Beck. I know, I am showing my age by mentioning those bands:)
I'm a classical music gal. I especially love late Romantic composers, particularly Russian composers, such as Tchaikovsky, Mussorgsky and Rimsky-Korsakov.
ReplyDeleteCurrent favorite group for the last few months has been The Johnny Burnette Trio.... getting hooked on rockabilly!?! Kinda weird for someone raised on punk!
ReplyDeleteIf we could listen to music in class right now, I could go for some Dave Matthews Band.
ReplyDeleteMy current favorites are Il Divo and Michael Buble, which I have time to listen to during my commute two nights a week. I'm a mostly "jazzy" type girl...with 98.1 programmed in the #1 spot in the car.
ReplyDeleteWow...still can't get over Courtney and Lil Wayne--awesome! Right this minute, my favorite band is Portastatic.
ReplyDeleteI'm in mommy mode lately, but Rockabye Baby and Hushabye Baby are pretty cool. They set real music (think Johnny Cash, Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Bob Marley, Coldplay and even No Doubt) to lullabies with xylophones and other baby friendly instruments. My baby girl loves it and it makes those long car rides bearable for my hubby and me.
ReplyDeleteThe Red Hot Chili Peppers have been awesome and "current" since the 1980's. They still rock today!
ReplyDeleteI listen to about every type of music, however I love the 50s music and blues it can be upbeat and fun and or mellow and relaxing. If however I am driving usually the station is on Country. So Garth Brooks is always nice, so too is Faith Hill.
ReplyDeleteI really like The Killers and the new Kanye stuff is pretty cool. I listen to everything from Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings to Nightmares on Wax...
ReplyDeleteI've been listening to Mars Volta a lot lately because it reminds me of my hubby who is currently in bootcamp.
ReplyDeleteIt's so hard to pick just one! I have so many favorites! I love Skillet, Thousand Foot Krutch, and Relient K to name a few. As far as a "current" favorite, I recently added Katy Perry to my extensive favorites list. Her music is fun, and she's got a great sound. Plus I love that 40's look she's got going, it works well for her. :D
ReplyDeleteI like so many different kinds of music(except country--sorry). classical, soul artists like Areatha Franklin. British rock bands. Anything with a melody or that's good to run to. Anything with a harmonica. I like Ivy, or Hooverphonic, for chilling out. Big Sonic Chill on 94.9.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite song right now is Kate Perry - Hot n Cold.
ReplyDeleteMy current favorite group us U-2 and my all time favorite groups are the Moody Blues and Santana.
ReplyDeleteI am currently listening to what my daughter likes...anything hip hop/top 40 pop. I love 80's new wave...XM has the perfect channel for it!
ReplyDeleteCURRENTLY- I have been found rocking out to some Japanese Motors. Its frontlined by a pro longboarder, Alex Knost, and has a great dancey surf rock feel to it. My best friend introduced me to them and you can find us stalking them at many of their souther california shows.
