I found this cool site that will allow you to add a visual representation of your wiki page that you created. . .it's much more effective than a simple link!

Week 15: The Beginning?

Wow, I can't believe we've reached the end of another semester. I sincerely hope that this not just the end of the class, but the beginning of your new future as a technology using educator!!

Tonight I hope to ensure that everyone is clear on how to get the narratives into TaskStream and that all of yours blogs are sufficiently dialed out!! When your blog is finished, including all artifacts, labels, NETS correlated, etc., then you can submit the Emerging Technology assignment.

Please use the time tonight to get any and all questions answered!!!

This week's question: What technology would you have liked to learn in this class that you didn't learn? What technology do you see yourself using most as an educator?

Week 14: If I Google Earth, will it Google Back?

Okay, it's the penultimate day of class!! We will be doing a small task with Google Earth and then talking about out blogs and TaskStream. . . .I hope everyone is caught up on her/his work!! If not, please try and get everything in ASAP so you can receive credit for what you have done.

Ensure you email or ask questions if there is anything you don't understand about what is due.

Next week: I want to focus on getting all of the narratives up on TaskStream so you can walk out of class finished with all of your work. I will talk to the group in the beginning and then try to meet with everyone individually to ensure you understand the narrative process!!

This week's question:
What has been your favorite assignment for this class and why?

Week 13: Did Spiderman Weave Web 2.0?

As of yesterday, I have graded all work that was past due, including any regrades. I noticed that there were quite a few who didn't upload to excel/speadsheet or the wiki so I moved the due date to tomorrow. . .last time!! Please check your grades to see that you have either a grade or a present in your inbox. Some of you were collaborators on projects but didn't submit your individual copies. . .Also, there are around three students who have not requested feedback from me in TaskStream!! Without TaskStream, there will be no grade for the course. . .please see me if you are one of those people.

This week: Most people should be finishing your iMovie software proficiency. Everyone can be working on the EdTechProfile post assessment as well as ensuring that your blogs are up-to-date with attached assignments, proper titles, NETS-T correlation, etc. . .I will discuss some if this in class tonight. It is also time to revisit the NETS narratives for NETS III, IV, & V!

We only have three more classes, so please get any help you might need or schedule some time to meet with me individually.

This week's question: What is your current or all-time favorite quote? It could be about education or life in general.

Week 12: If iMovie, Does it Come Before C?

Okay, I now officially know that I cannot be a single father. . .I have spent the better part of the last two weeks either chasing my children around or trying to get ready for school. . . dealing with hamster bites, cat snot, and two daughter who love each other, but don't necessarily like each other at the current moment. . .
Why do I tell you this? Well, other than my own general neurosis, I tell you because I have accomplished nothing in terms of grading past assignments. . .I vow to get everything graded by next week. . .or die trying.

This week we are going to learn how to use iMovie. . .it is not the movie project, but an assignment designed to ensure you can all use this software to edit movies. . .because if you can do this, you CAN make a movie.

This week's Question:
What was the funnest thing (most fun for my English teachers) you did in the last two weeks?

Week 10: If My Spring Breaks, Can I Have it Replaced?

I hope my daughters appreciate how much time I waste trying to do new Photoshop effects to their pictures (click on the picture to get a closer look at how cool this is). . .for the brave, this tutorial can be found on my delicious page under the, you guessed it, photoshop tag.

Almost time for Spring Break. . .some of you probably thought you would never get here. As I work to catch up on all of my grading, I am honestly impressed with just how well you are all doing as a group. . .When I think back to day one, I must admit I was a bit afraid . . . :-) I will get the Inspiration and Copyright assignments graded over break. . .check WebCT for grades and any returned assignments.

This week: we will be introduced to the new collaborative wiki project that we will be doing with Dr. Hanor's 422 classes (I think there are 3!). . .also, I will be going over the Excel Spreadsheet assignment that you will be completing over our break. . .don't forget that there will be a virtual class on April 8.
Note: It would really be in your best interest to work on as much of your TaskStream narratives as you can over the break. All we have left to finish is a Social Justice movie, the EdTechProfile post-assessment, and the narratives for TaskSStream!!

Journal 9: This Comes to us from T-H-E Journal. "The Kids are All Right," by John K. Waters.

Journal 10: (this is for my overachievers who want to finish this assignment over the break ;-) I want you to search L&L or the the Internet for a journal article around an issue educational technology. . .ensure you give it a good citation and perhaps even a link if it is something that I may not have read. I can offer a suggestion, but I won't post it for a week or so.

This week's Question: If I could send you on your ideal vacation over spring break, where would you go and what would you do?
